Steve Brunk has lived in Sedgwick County, Kansas, for more than 60 years and he has more than 40 years of combined experience in industries including sales and real estate. He also has 13 years of public service experience representing constituents in the Kansas Legislature.
A long-time small business owner, community and church leader, Steve will bring wisdom, extensive knowledge and passion to the Sedgwick County Commission.
Steve’s long history of carefully examining the issues and formulating solid public policy has well served the residents and businesses in his legislative district. Steve will continue to be an asset to constituents in Commission District 1.
Public Service Experience
The families and businesses in Kansas House of Representatives District 85 elected Steve to represent them in Topeka for 13 years – a responsibility that Steve honored with hard work and dedication on their behalf.
While in the legislature, Steve was entrusted with the Chairmanship of key committees such as the House Federal & State Affairs Committee and the House Commerce & Labor Committee. He was also asked to serve in other key posts such as the Attorney General’s Task Force on Human Trafficking.

Small Business Owner
Steve is the Owner and President of Brunk Realty, serving clients in real estate brokerage, business brokerage and property management.
Steve is an Elder at Central Christian Church in Wichita where he has been a lifelong member. He founded and served as the president of the Spina Bifida Association of Kansas. He has served on numerous boards and volunteers for other community and civic organizations.
Steve and his wife, Billie, raised their two children here in Sedgwick County. They are proud grandparents of three grandchildren.
